Development and Communications Assistant

EcoHealth Alliance seeks a Development and Communications Assistant who will be responsible for assisting our Development and Communications Managers and working with the President, senior management teams, the Board of EcoHealth Alliance, science staff, and partners. This position requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for design, excellent communication skills, and an ability to prioritize as well as multi-task. Development of unrestricted revenue is essential to the overall success of EcoHealth Alliance and this role must be dedicated to providing support needed to assist in securing resources to support programmatic and other activities.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Assist with research, reporting, and tracking foundation, corporate, and other grant opportunities
  • Draft text for the general public including for the EcoHealth Alliance website, Board reports, appeals, quarterly and other communications, blogs, and other social media
  • Research and organize photos and other media as well as participate in lay-out and design of web, print, reports, and other items
  • Assist with social media campaigns including strategy, writing, and design
  • Participate actively in EcoHealth Alliance’s Development Committee
  • Assist with maintaining donor records and communicate with finance teams to track funding
  • Send and coordinate donor and other funder letters, acknowledgments, communications, and mailing campaigns
  • Assist EcoHealth Alliance teams to organize fundraising events
  • Research and draft for reports to management teams describing effectiveness of fundraising, social media, and other campaigns, events, and outreach
  • Support senior management, science, and other EcoHealth Alliance teams to draft and submit funding proposals as well as tracking and reporting on current funding
  • Organize departmental activities, manage events calendars, and take minutes at development and other meetings

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA, BSc, or other relevant degree and 1+ years related experience
    Nonprofit and foundation funding experience preferred
  • Demonstrated writing ability and creativity
  • Strong eye for detail and especially copyediting
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office and with some experience in graphic and web design software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and motivated; with strong data management skills
  • Knowledge of and commitment to conservation and health or related fields
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
